In the Beginning: Mason Jars and Big Dreams
Our story begins in 2019, in a small kitchen filled with the sweet aroma of elderberries. We started by selling our homemade elderberry syrup in mason jars on Facebook Marketplace. It was more than just a business; it was a labor of love. We poured our hearts into every jar, sharing them with friends, family, and fellow church members. These early days were filled with excitement, hope, and the dream of something bigger.
The Market Days: A Community Embraces Us
Fast forward to November 2021. We took a leap of faith and set up our first stall at the Windermere Farmers Market. Those market days were vibrant and bustling, introducing us to a community of like-minded people who shared our passion for natural, homeopathic remedies. The response was overwhelming. Our elderberry syrup became a hit, selling out faster than we could have ever imagined. It felt like we were on top of the world, riding a wave of elderberry success.
A Sweet Surprise: Balancing Family and Business
But life had a sweet surprise in store for us. On Valentine's Day, we discovered that we were expecting our first child. It was a moment of pure joy, but it also brought new challenges. We had to balance the needs of our growing family with the demands of our burgeoning business. This meant making tough decisions, like taking a step back from the markets to focus on our family. It was a difficult choice, but our customers' unwavering support made it easier.
Why No Storefront? Our Strategic Choice
Many of you have asked why we don't have a storefront. The truth is, as a small business, we're constantly learning and adapting. The pandemic hit many businesses hard, and we saw firsthand the struggles of maintaining a physical store. We realized that, for now, our strength lies in being nimble – focusing on online sales and local markets allows us to connect directly with you, our customers, without the overhead of a storefront.
